Hello!
It has been a few years since I have written. I feel it is best to write as if I am corresponding with an old friend. First, I am sorry that I have not remained in better communication. Second, I have missed you and the time spent choosing to send my thoughts, lessons, ponderings… out to into this void with no expectation of response or engagement, merely to process the journey out loud. Having said that, I do hope to have more interactions, conversations, and respectful dialogue.
Life, these days, in the current culture, has left me skeptical of my purpose with the written word and if my voice even matters. There are so many voices clamoring for your attention and intellect. {Thank you for allowing me the gift of some of your attention and time.] There are so many distractions and upheavals making the world appear far worse than it likely is, on the ground level. So many narratives, some louder than others, and so much working to divide over bringing together.
You begin to wonder… What is the point? Will anyone hear me, or better yet, actually listen? How can I support and speak life into the lives of others? Will there be opportunity to bring light into what seems to be a burden heavy darkness? What if the very things that need to be said are to tender, piercingly deep, vulnerable, or …. simply objective truth?
The subjects of the conversational depth that I would like to participate in are not ones that I would want to do in the mire of social media or even in this forum when I can’t see your face, hear the timber and tone of your voice, or see the posture that constitutes most of actual communication. Will offense and defensiveness be more important than having an open dialogue of respectful discourse or will it dilute the dialogue to the point of irreparable harmony and healing? These very things have held me back and held my tongue over the last 4 years. How do I write in complete vulnerable authenticity when the MSM seems to be more geared towards diatribes and censorship based on preference rather than context of content.
I ask these questions from the posture of a prostrate heart, longing to grow with others and speak life where dishonor has taken territory. I suppose the best way to answer those questions is to simply pick up my pen and start again with you, in love and joyful anticipation of what the future can hold when hope and faith lead the next step. I am going to sign off for the night. Before I go, I would love to hear how you are doing? How have you been processing the weight this world has been carrying especially over the last 2 years? I look forward to your reply.
